Butter wouldn’t melt………. Nivea and Body Shop Lip Butter and Limited Edition Vaseline Pink Bubbly Lip Therapy.
Hope you all had a great week and are relaxing and enjoying the weekend. Just thought i would do my weekly update. I have been doing some work for my website and when i was looking at my lip butters i realised i have a few, so have added three here for you to have a look at.
I get dry but not chapped lips in the fall/winter, so i usually have plenty of lip creams, butters around. I don’t use anything in the summer except maybe a lip shine with colour. I like lip butters in Autumn/Fall and Vaseline in the winter, which offers my lips more protection. Also, not shown here is the Burts Bees Beeswax sticks. They also offer great protection in the winter and give my lips a tingling sensation, which i actually like. Below, is the information for the three i have chosen.
Nivea Lip Butter £1.99/19gm
Smells like Thornton’s Toffee, which is gorgeous. I want to eat it. Really nice softening butter which keeps the lips soft for a good 2 hours with one application. You will have to re-apply but i think that goes without saying really. You do with most of them. None sticky. Main ingredients are beeswax, shea butter, seed oil, water, glycerin.
The Body Shop Foundation Lip Butter/Dragon Fruit. £4.00/10gm
Yes expensive however; 100% of the profit goes to charity. One charity is picked from a choice of three by the public in every country this butter is sold. So you get soft kissable lips and someone else benefits as well.
The butter has Dragon Fruit extract in, (i hate the real thing) which is a pink spiky looking pear shaped tropical fruit. In the centre is a soft white melon
like flesh with thousands of tiny black seeds, (see picture)and tastes very sharp. This butter tastes like passion fruit and its not too sweet either. Very nice. It has a none stick consistency. Top ingredients are Shea butter and beeswax which gives a very rich buttery feeling on the lips.
Vaseline Lip Therapy Limited Edition Pink Bubbly £3.25/20gm
Vaseline petroleum jelly has become more exciting over the past few years. Releasing many versions with different aromas and placing in a round tin to use as a lip balm. (They have also just released the stick versions to). This particular one is supposed to be made with Champagne Grape Extract and coloured slightly pink to give the impression of pink champagne. The tin lists wine extract and it tastes a bit like a sweet grape. Its quite pleasant but not really worth the £1.00 price hike over the others of which, the cocoa butter is my personal favourite.
Vaseline in general, is one of the best products for me to use during the very cold winter months and can also be used to exfoliate the lips by applying a thick coat, leaving it for 10 minutes and then rubbing the dry skin off gently with a Q tip/cotton bud. You will find the skin comes away from the lip far more easily.
So there you have it, three lip smoother’s i would recommend. Hope that inspires you to give them a try.
