YSL Arctic Blue gives Chanel Lipsticks the 24 Carat Midas Touch.
Yes it’s time for my weekend update again. It seems to be rolling around fast lately. Dare i say, Christmas is fast approaching! So i thought it was apt for me to pick a product that reflects the season.
YSL has come up with a great holiday collection called ‘The Northern Lights’. Meant to reflect the Arctic, and the natural phenomenon that is its namesake. The colours encompass, mother of pearl, blues, blacks and sparkling pink and blue spheres which have been created and inspired by Lloyd Simmonds, Creative Director for YSL’s, childhood marvel at the beautiful lights.
The golden gloss i purchased is my favourite out of the whole collection because it is blue which is unusual for a lip gloss and has many tiny fragments of 24 carat gold (0.2%) and pale and darker blue light reflecting spheres. In the sunlight it is amazing and suits pretty much every lipstick colour. YSL Golden Gloss in No 55 Arctic Blue 6ml/£22.00. Limited Edition so get it quick. I have done a complete review on the whole collection in detail on my website, address below.
I have teamed the YSL Golden Gloss 55 with three of my favourite different types of Chanel lipsticks, all still available to buy.
Then next, Rouge Coco number 45 Caractere, a warm plum/brown toned lipstick which is gorgeous for autumn. This is from the Les Essentiels Fall Collection 2012. Pictured below left.First Chanel lipstick is the new Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lipstick in number 93 Exaltee, which is a real Fuschia and very bright. Pictured right.
The third lipstick is Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet in number 34 La Raffinee. This is a lovely pink, quite pigmented colour which goes on matte leaving a velvety soft feel and doesn’t dry the lips out like some matte lipsticks do. Chanel Rouge Allure lipsticks are £25.00 and have a great pop up case and Chanel Rouge Coco lipsticks are £24.00. La Raffinee is pictured below left.
First picture is of my lips with the new Chanel Rouge Allure Luminous Intense lipstick in Exaltee and the golden gloss applied over the top.
The next pictures below are the Chanel Rouge Coco moisturising lipstick in Caractere on the left and with golden gloss on the right.
The final pictures below are of the Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet Matte Lipstick in La Raffinee and then again with the golden gloss over the top pictured right. I forgot to mention that the gloss is not sticky at all.
So there you have it, one lip gloss, three lipsticks with six great results. The blue gloss over the lipsticks gives them a cool tone which is great for slightly stained teeth as they will appear whiter.
