An Abstract Concept……Chanel Illusion D’Ombre Single Eye Shadow in Abstraction.
Hows it going? I hope your all doing well. I just wanted to add this post because the Chanel Illusion D’Ombre single eye shadow in Abstraction,(88) has just been released in the US and i wanted to do a quick review and swatch for anyone who doesn’t own this but may be considering buying it.
Abstraction, has been out in the UK since summer this year and it was released alongside Vision, (89) a gold shade. I never purchased vision because it was too bright a yellow gold for me however; i do think it would be a great shade for darker skin tones.
Abstraction is a pretty salmon pink with golden sparkles and has a nice mousse-gel formulation which does not dry or crease, great for blending. It also comes with a brush that is useful for lining the eye with. All Illusion D’Ombre shades have good colour pay off and can be easily build up. The MAC 242 shader brush is ideal for applying this eye shadow because, natural hair brushes struggle to pick the product up.
This colour is suitable for all over the lid and blends very well with Illusoire (83) Chanels most popular and universal shade in this formulation, which is a taupe purple. I wear it with that or with Bobbi Browns long wear cream eye shadow in Beach Bronze, (16) from her Miami Collection and MAC kohl eye liner pencil in Raven from the Glamour Daze Collection. It looks great all over the lid with the Beach Bronze in the crease and smoked out with the MAC pencil. That really brings the blue out in my eyes.
(Pictured left in natural light) The only concern i would have with this particular colour is that you really do have to swatch it on your own skin, as it is not as universal as some of the other shades in the Illusion D’Ombre collection. I find that the Emerveille, (82 light peach with a golden shimmer) suits my eye colour and skin tone a tiny bit more than this one, however; i love the golden sparkle in abstraction.
You may want to keep the lid on tight at all times as these mousses are known for drying out if any air gets into them. That said, Illusion D’Ombre eye shadows are probably one of the best formulations Chanel have ever come up with alongside their duo eye shadows, in Europe and Asia, and the right colour looks stunning on the eyes.
Illusion D’Ombre single eye shadows cost £23.00/4gm
Hope this information helps you and if you have any questions then please ask away. I will see you all at the weekend. Take care. 😉
