Products I Loved in November ……………..Chanel, Guerlain, NARS, Dior, MAC, Bobbi Brown & Palmers
Hope your all doing well and not getting too stressed by Christmas. I’m soooo…… busy at the moment and tomorrow hence, why i am going to do my favourites tonight. So among the Christmas gift ideas i am writing about, another month has ended. Wow! Its December. Time to share the products i have been using and i love of course, over the past month.
I have picked out products i have used on my face and an essential hand cream. If i picked skin care, body care, hair etc, you would be here all month reading it and i would be all month writing it. I will probably do a skin and body care one next month because i do have a few men following and reading my posts and i want to make it just as interesting for them too (well i hope your all interested). I haven’t forgotten about you, honest! 🙂
Anyone who regularly reads my posts will see products i have already written reviews on individually. However; this is a favourite’s post and i am going to be using them. I will add links so you can read more detail, view pics and look at the swatches on items i have covered.
Guerlain Parure Foundation
Guerlain have brought out a newer version of this called Parure de Lumiere. This is mineral water based foundation with light reflecting spheres.
I find the original to be very good, great medium coverage with a water-like feel to it. It feels light on the skin and sets to a dewy finish. Fantastic for winter, thats why i am using it now. I can’t really use it in the summer because my skin is much more oilier then and it gives me a lot of shine. It does not settle into fine lines or dry out my skin in the winter. A must for dry skin. 30ml/£36.50.
Chanel Joues Contraste Powder Blush in Rose Initiale 72
I bought this one in the Chanel Autumn/Fall Les Essentiels de Chanel 2012. Please go to http://www.mandymcmulli7.wix.com/mirifique-beauty for a full review and swatches on this collection. I bought most of it. Sorry but for some reason you can’t click onto my website address but you can access it through my homepage on twitter @mirifiquebeauty.
Back to the blusher. It is a gorgeous fairly bright pink with a cool tone that suits mine and i would say most skin tones. It offers great colour pay off and doesn’t have a lot of shimmer or glitter like some Chanel blushers do, so if you hate that then this is the blusher for you. Even though i would normally prefer shimmer in my blushers, i love wearing this over NARS bronzer in Laguna as this has shimmer in it. So the duo combination really works well and gives the cheeks a lovely contoured finish with a flush of pink. This blusher is a permanent line by Chanel, at least for now anyway. 4gm/£32.00.
NARS Bronzer in Laguna 5101
I have already done a review and individual swatch on this bronzer here. This bronzer is quite subtle with a lovely sheen. It is as good as the hype as it gives the face a lovely healthy glow. Great for contouring or wearing as a blusher. I apply it as a blusher to contour and then add a pop of the Rose Initiale to the apple of my cheek. It just works a treat. 8gm/£25.00
NARS Dolce Vita Lipstick
I really do like this shade. Its a dusty pink with a touch of cool red to it. NARS best selling lipstick and its great for day wear. For full review and swatch, click onto link in the NARS Bronzer paragraph. 3.4g/£17.50
Bobbi Brown Long Wear Cream Eye Shadow in Beach Bronze 16
From her Miami Collection, (Summer 2012) this shade is a warm bronze brown with a golden shimmer. Makes a lovely crease/socket colour or can be worn as a light wash over the whole eye lid. The great thing about these shadows is they do not crease at all. Once they are on, they set and stay put all day.
Great if you have oily skin. There are a huge range of shades and one pot lasts a long time. (Keep the lid tightly closed as they can start to dry out a bit). I have owned another shade for three years now and its only just starting to dry out. These go great with Chanel Illusion D’Ombre eye shadows. 3.5gm/£18.00
Chanel Illusion D’Ombre Single Eye Shadow in Abstraction
I have done a full post review on this here. I love these eye shadows. They are stunning, very multifaceted and cannot be duped either. I have seen bloggers do swatches with other similar shades next to them and none have been as stunning as these. I could pick the Chanel one out of the side by side swatches immediately without reading the text.
I have been wearing this one because it goes lovely all over the eye lid with Bobbi Brown Beach Bronze cream eye shadow in the socket. It is a salmon pink shade and suits blue eyes really well. They don’t come cheap but will last a very long time. 4gm/£23.00
Diorshow Extase Mascara.
Great mascara for thickening and curling the lashes. One of the best out there and doesn’t smudge. I struggle with odd shaped brushes as they just make my eye lashes look messy but this one is a nice thick brush which gives an even application. No fuss or messing around trying to get great looking lashes. Generous 10ml/£23.00. Review and swatch here.
MAC Kohl Eye Pencil in Raven
From the Glamour Daze Collection 2012. I really do like MAC eye and lip pencils. They are great quality for the price. This one is a duo chrome with a hint of copper in it. So easy to smoke out to. Really love it and most of them in this collection. 1.5gm/£15.50
Chanel Lip Precision Lip Definer Pencil. Pivoine 32.
Chanel lip liners are possibly the best out there. Stay put and last for ages. They come in great natural shades that can be matched with most lipsticks and they blend easily as well. Pivoine is a pink/mauve shade which goes lovely with Dolce Vita but also many of my other lipsticks including; Caractere Rouge Coco by Chanel, so it is a great shade for the more warm deeper pink lipsticks. Contains Camomile and Vitamin E. Not sure this shade is available in UK anymore but many others shades are. Includes a brush and sharpener. 1gm/£17.50
Palmers Shea Butter Formula Concentrated Hand Cream
My hands get really dry and flaky in the winter and i cannot do without hand cream at all. So this is the one i have been using over the month. Its a good all rounder. Cheap and does the trick. No special fragrance involved but that is never my concern with hand cream. I just want soft hands and this one gives them that without any greasy feel. Contains Vitamin E. 60gm/£2.20 average price.
Swatches from left to right. NARS Bronzer in Laguna, Chanel Joues Contraste Blusher in Rose Initiale, Chanel Illusion D’Ombre single eye shadow in Abstraction, Bobbi Brown Longwear Cream Eyeshadow in Beach Bronze, MAC khol eye liner pencil in Raven and Chanel lip defining pencil in Pivoine.
So that’s what i have been using over the last month. If you have any questions then ask away as usual. Take care everyone and i will see you all soon. 😉
