Guerlain Spring 2013 Makeup Collection Preview

Hi Everyone,

Hope your all well and happy. I wanted to do another preview on the Guerlain Spring 2013 makeup collection. Strangely enough, they don’t seem to have given this collection an official title but the Meteorites are called Perles du Paradis, so maybe that is the title!!

I first became familiar with Guerlain in 2005 when i purchased a face cream which was lovely and also very expensive, but i bought it duty free. I then purchased the Precious Lights eye concealer and to this day, i have never used any other. Its fantastic and lasts an eternity. Since this time, i have had various makeup and skin care products which have all been high quality by Guerlain.

Guerlain generally do small collections and this one is no exception however; the quality is always top notch. I would rather this, than a large collection that has hit or miss products like some other well known brands.

The collection releases in January 2013 UK, Europe and Asia and here it is.

Maxi Lash Mascara £22.00. Brand new from Guerlain, this mascara has a full round brush with cross action fibres to coat lashes giving instant volume, curl and thickness. (It has a similar style brush to Dior Extase so i am interested to see if it can deliver as well as the Dior one). It comes in two shades; 01 Noir and 02 Violet.

Guerlain large meteorites

Meteorites Perles du Paradis  £43.00.

These are much larger balls than the previous meteorites. I own four varieties of them and i do think they make a great powder for illuminating and also for a nice matte finish. They even out the skin tone and the powder is very finely milled. Really lovely and i’m looking forward to testing these out. There are six colours which are pink (brightens dull areas) , rosewood, bronze/brown (for colour), silver( for reflection),blue and white. Come with a giant pink powder puff and you can also buy the meteorites brush, which has ideal fibres for these balls.

Next are the Ecrin 4 Couleurs Collectors Palette’s. £38.00. Long lasting powder eye shadows. On the left is 502 Coup de Foudre which are green, silvery pattina, bronze khaki and intense coral. On the right are 501 Attrape-Coeur, which are mauve,violet,white and purple. I have never used these eye shadows before but i believe they are highly pigmented.

The eye pencil Le Crayon comes in 5 shades which are;

01 Black Jack, 02 Jackie Brown, 03 Deep Purple (pictured), 04 Katy Navy and 05 Amber Silver. I have no price for these. Current pencils are £16.00.

Also there is a striped blusher but i am not 100% sure if we are getting this in Europe. I believe it will be available in Asia though. Again no price as of yet.Guerlain 2013 BLUSH SAKURA

Guerlain 2013 lip

Moving on to Lip Products.

The Rouge Atomatique is £24.50 and there are two new shades which are;

601 Romance, 600 Ballade

Shine Atomatique £24.50 also comes in two new shades.

762 Rendez-vous

761 Flirt

Kiss Kiss Gloss £24.50

849 Frizzy Mango

870 Cherry Pink

Last is a liquid eye liner with an ultra thin tip. It comes in black. £24.50

My interests are in the meteorites, mascara and the purple eye pencil. What do you think? I hope you have enjoyed this preview and i shall be back with more posts shortly. Take care
