Christmas Stocking Filler 1. Diorific Golden Winter Collection…………Long Wearing Lipstick. 046 Minuit.
Hope you’re all well. One of the stand out makeup collections this year for me, (besides Chanel of course) has to be Dior’s Golden Winter Makeup collection. Said to be inspired by Christian Diors fascination with the Palace of Versailles in mid winter and the metallic shades and golden hues of the lights and its decor, hence the shades of the eye palettes.
When i first watched the video above, i was very taken with the application of the makeup and the stunning lipstick itself. I have pale skin too but i think the colours used on the model are very universal. The lipstick was sold to me instantly and oh! how i wish i had those lips to wear it too haha.
I love the capsule packaging of the Diorific lipsticks as they are just a little unusual; yet, still remains classy and weighty giving it an expensive feel without being cumbersome. Yes and the lipstick is £27.50, so it is expensive!
A hot pink with mild pink iridescent shimmer, a gorgeous shade with a red base, making it a very warm shade.
Above left is taken in ambient daylight and pictured right, in direct sunlight. I used Chanel Lip Defining Pencil, 55 Fuschia to line the lips.
The lipstick has a powdery candy scent to it. Very much like sweets i ate as a child called love hearts. Loving that a lot. It leaves no taste in the mouth, by the way.
This is a matte shade which applies with incredible intensity. It is very striking on the lips but also feels slightly drying, as to be expected from matte shades.
I applied a Chanel glossimer, 174 Daydream over the top of Minuit to make it a little more softer on the lips, as pictured above; however, i am very pleased with my purchase and the lipstick lasts a good couple of hours on the lips too.
Overall, a great lipstick for the party season that brightens up the face and would make a lovely stocking filler.
Below, swatches of comparison lipsticks. Note that it is very like 134 Audacieuse; whereas, Illusion and Exaltée are much cooler blue based colours.
Do you have a favourite hot pink colour for a night out? Have fun and i will see you all soon. ;-)
