Nuit Infinie de Chanel Holiday Makeup Collection 2013……………….Haul

Hi Everyone,

Late last year saw the release of the Chanel Holiday makeup collection. I have been trying to get around to reviewing the products for ages but only just managed to today.

Once again, i have fallen in love with a few items and here they are.

Chanel Nuit Infinie Haul

1. Ombres Matelassées de Chanel, Charming.

The star of the show and i have written a complete post on it, because it deserves it’s own post. View here. A gorgeous concoction of five neutral, universal, buttery smooth eyeshadows. Great for both day and evening wear. I love that Chanel have combined satin textures along with matte and sparkles. Great combination.

2. Illusion D’Ombre Long Wear Luminous Cream Eyeshadow, 837 Fatal.

I am a huge fan of these eyeshadows. I just love them so much and this one is gorgeous. I wasn’t too fond of the other one in the collection because it was a lot like my Chanel eyeshadow stick 07 Moon River, so i gave it a miss. This one; however, is a unique plum/mauve shade with silver shimmer. Blends very well and applies smoothly. It goes very well with all my taupe shades, and i own a fair few and i cannot wait for the Spring 2014 release of the silver pink that Chanel are going to release, as this will also compliment it. A great shade for blue and green eyes.

3.  Joues Contraste Powder Blush, 84 Accent.

Another winner. This is very pigmented for a Joues Contraste. Often i have felt that some lack intensity in pigmentation; however, not this one. It does have mild shimmer that transfers into a satin finish on the skin but i also press some on afterwards to maintain a bit of the sparkle too.

Described by Chanel as a pale beige pink. It transfers onto the skin with a warm slightly beige/bronze sheen with a hint of pink to it. I do really love this shade and it is ideal for the winter months. It also doesn’t fade during the day either. Love it!

Chanel Joues Contraste Blush Accent and Comparison Swatches

Comparisons above show that the discontinued Enchanteresse, is very similar with a browner undertone and Orchid Rose has a more peach tone.

4. Cils Scintillants Sparkling Mascara Top Coat, Bronze Platine.

I wasn’t going to buy this because i already have a silver version of Lancôme Hypnose, which i purchased 4 years ago and love very much. As all of Chanel’s Holiday collections are limited edition, i thought i may as well go for it.

I am not disappointed either. Great in artificial light, because the bronze sparkles stand out, making it great for an evening out. A little goes a long way, so i would suggest only one or two strokes on the top lashes and one on base lashes. It can look a little too much otherwise. It applies really well over other mascara’s i use and didn’t weigh my lashes down at all. Great, fun product for the holiday, if a little gimmicky.

5. Le Vernis Nail Colour, 677 Rouge Rubis.Chanel Rouge Rubis Nail Polish

Another one i have dedicated a whole post to. View here. It is a beautiful true red shade with no blue, orange or pink base. A pure pillar box red. Iconic and classic from Chanel.

6. Poudre Universelle Libre Natural Finish Loose Powder, 77 Moon Light.

I just do adore Chanel setting powders. They are incredibly fine and a little is all that is needed to set the foundation in place, they never cake either. The holiday collection ones have sparkling shimmer in them and are ideal for the tops of cheekbones and also the collar bones and tops of the shoulders too. The shade this year is peach with golden sparkle. I also have the past two years ones which are beige and soft pink. Lovely!

Comparisons of all Chanel Poudre Universelle Libre Loose Powders

Above left Moon River and Middle Féérie, which is a lovely soft pink with pink and golden sparkle. Right is last years holiday release Rêverie, which is beige with golden sparkles.

7. Liquid Eyeliner Intensity Definition, 117 Bronze.

The first ever liquid eyeliner i have owned. It is a lovely bronze shade and i couldn’t resist it. Once it is set, it stays put. Now, i just have to learn to have a steady hand!

There you have it. Another great holiday haul, if reviewed a little late. Did you buy anything from it or other collections? Have fun and take care. 😉

  1. Wow everything is absolutely stunning! Thank you for the detailed pictures x

  2. I was quite restrained……Just Rouge Rubis and Ombres Matelassees for me from this collection but they were so iconically Chanel they were must haves really. I nearly bought the sparkling mascara but as you say just a bit gimmicky. Looking forward to the Spring release this weekend and once again I think Dior might have just nicked it, their spring colour palette is just so Spring like and gorgeous! Xx

    • Tbh i wasn’t really impressed with most of the Dior Spring collection. I love the lipstick Courtisane and the perle nail colour and lip gloss to match but that’s about it really. Yes, i thought i better post this review before investing in yet more Chanel from their spring collection. I am so behind on my reviews at the moment but will try and catch up soon. Thanks for the great feedback though. I love Rouge Rubis and so glad you talked me into buying it.

      • Well I have decided on the Porcelaine and Perle Dior polish, the Mouselline & Minauderie Addict Gloss and the Fusion Matt Mono in Nocturne from Dior the New Guerlain Blossom Meteorites in 02 Clair. And from Chanel the three new polishes and that’s it for me this Spring although I am slowly chipping away at Burberry and Tom Ford. Burberry had a bit of a listing error on their website with their Spring Collection and some of prices were wrong so I picked up a Burberry Face Glow for £18 instead of £40!!!!!! And Free delivery! Sadly they have put it right now or I would have bought more! Xx

      • Fantastic! Wish that would happen to me. Yes, the Mousseline lip gloss is gorgeous. I tried out the mono eyeshadows in the shop and just wasn’t impressed at all sadly. I like the ones coming out by Chanel, so i will opt for them instead. I’m all about the sparkle haha.

  3. I meant to tell you that I have been meaning to try Utan fake tan by Ultimo as it seems to be the beauty editors and reviewers favourite. Anyway the whole range is half price on which is a huge saving as they aren’t cheap. Xx

  4. Ahhh everything looks amazing!

  5. wow you’ve got the entire collection right there!!! Amazing haul!!!

  6. I think i`m in love with that mascara. So gorgeous!

  7. I never bought the blush because it really looked like Orchid Rose which I have a love hate relationship with. Really surprised by the swatch. Have you had a chance to look at the new spring collection; need to go and try the quad again but I love the rouge allures.

    • Yes it is more like the gorgeous Enchanteresse, which was discontinued. I also bought Discretion, which is absolutely gorgeous too and i will review that soon. I am going to take a look tomorrow at the new collection although money is very tight this month due to Orthodontist bill.
