Chanel Notes Du Printemps……………….Spring Haul 2014
It’s time to get my review done of the new Chanel Notes Du Printemps collection 2014 before the new collection arrives this week. I am trying to keep my haul reviews current and relevant to people who may want to buy them and to stay ahead of the releases coming up.
I really do like Chanel Spring collections because gone are the darker shades of winter and in comes the brighter more pastel shades for the Spring. It just lifts my mood.
This time though, i wasn’t incredibly impressed with some of the lipstick shades or the eyeshadows, so my haul is quite a small one of four items and here they are.
Precision Lip Defining Pencil, 70 Sonic Pink.
This is a bright pastel blue based pink designed to go with the Rouge Allure Velvet lipstick, La Diva and also the one i purchased, Rouge Coco lipstick, 59 Dédicace, another blue based bright pink. The lip pencil has a softer feel about it and the SA told me it can also be worn all over the lip as a lipstick as well. (something Chanel has never promoted before with their lip pencils). It still acts impressively as a lip liner as well although, i prefer the stiffer formula . I don’t own a shade like this and am not sure if its limited edition or not.
Rouge Coco Lipstick, 59 Dédicace.
Above from left to right, lipstick without flash, with flash and close up.
I love the formulation of these lipsticks and always have. They can be slightly drying on the lips; however, the longevity and opaqueness is quite fantastic, so i don’t mind one bit. What i do hate is lipsticks that cost a pretty penny and need constant re-application and this never happens with Rouge Coco lipsticks.
I did buy this lipstick without trying it out first, a bit of a mistake because, it is a bit blueish in tone for my skin tone. I may have a bash at it again in Spring and Summer but not at the moment. Would look fantastic on people who have very pale skin, avoid it if you have mid to darker skin tones. A lovely Spring shade though.
Below are comparisons with other Spring time pink lipsticks i currently own.
Illusion D’Ombre Long Wear Single Eyeshadow, 92 Diapason.
I have mentioned the Illusion D’Ombre eyeshadows many a time on my blog. I just love them. They are incredibly multi-tonal and i love the sparkle that is created with them. They are very easy to work with, suit every eye shade and blend beautifully, Diapason is no exception. A stunning deep purple with turquoise and silver micro shimmer. It gives a gorgeous finish on the eye. I have worn it with Fizz and Nomad, (pink single soft touch eyeshadows from Chanel) Illusoire and Fatal, two Illusion D’Ombre shades i also own. I use it mostly as a crease shade and its so gorgeous. This is part of the permanent line and i will re-purchase.
Swatch of Diapason below left and I have also done comparison swatches with both Illusoire and Fatal. Illusiore is a grey/ taupe shade and Fatal has a pink/beige base.
Illusion D’Ombre Long Wear Single Eyeshadow, 93 Impulsion.
This is a limited edition shade and is a pale pink, almost a highlighting shade, with plenty of large silver shimmer. I find that i cannot wear it on it’s own because it does not have a great deal of pigmentation; however, it is gorgeous patted over other colours such as Fizz, Nomad and Diapason too. It makes a great highlighter for under the brow arch, inner corners of the eye and high on the cheekbones.
I have also done comparison swatches pictured below with other Illusion D’Ombre shades i own. Abstraction and Émerveillé. Abstraction is a salmon pink with good pigmentation and Émerveillé is a shimmering peach shade.
Have fun and i will see you all soon. 😉
