NARS Dual Intensity Eyeshadow……………Cassiopeia

Hi Everyone,

I recently took a trip to Space NK in Chester, to see what was new in. I like Space NK because it offers beauty brands that the mainstream stores do not, which are great quality.

NARS have recently released their version of wet and dry single eyeshadows and they are exceptionally good. They come with metallic finishes and are highly pigmented, even when dry. If you are looking for matte shadows, these are not for you. The emphasis is on a dramatic metallic high shine finish.

I wanted to buy at least four of them; however, they are £21.00 each so one will do for now and maybe a couple of others later on, if i actually need them!!

I opted for a paler shade called Cassiopeia.

Its a beautiful duo-chrome. In the pan it looks white with a hint of pink shimmer. It is actually a sparkling intense bluish toned candy pink shade.

It’s ideal for all over the lid or in the corner of eyes and under brow bone and gives that mother of pearl effect.

Below left swatch applied dry and right swatch applied with a damp brush. I don’t think it needs to be used wet though, it’s intense enough.

I use it over other darker shades so that it stands out more on my eye. It’s a lovely colour and compared to the Laura Mercier single eyeshadow i reviewed here, it’s quite uniquely different.

Laura Mercia Petal Pink is a warmer shade with sparkle ; Cassiopeia is a cooler blue based mother of pearl shade, very on trend at the moment too.

The packaging is cute. A little square velvety black box with a magnetic closing.

The negatives are that it may not suit darker skin tones (unless used as a highlighting shade) and if you hate shimmer or metallic finishes, no point in buying any of them. It is also quite expensive as well. Only 1.5gm of product for £21.00. The original single eyeshadows contain 2.2gm of product at £18.00 and Chanel single eyeshadows are 2gms for £23.00 while Dior wet and dry mono eyeshadows are 2.2gm for £23.00.

All twelve shades are lovely and unique in their own right and you may not want to stop at just one. Good luck with that!

Have you bought any of these new eyeshadows from NARS yet? Take care and i will see you all soon. 😉
