NARS Dual Intensity Eyeshadows………………..Desdemona.
I have been back to NARS once again. Yes! I am in love with the new dual intensity eyeshadows, having bought Cassiopeia here.
I did say i wanted at least four. The next two being Dionne and Callisto. We’ll see though.
This shade is a beautiful duo chrome deep maroon/egg plant shade with brown undertones. In fact, it reminds me a lot of the Chanel Illusion D’Ombre Ebloui without the glitter. I did think it was going to be like Diapason; however, that leans more towards a purple shade. ( See swatches below).
The shade itself is very unique and is going to suit blue, dark brown and green eyes for sure.
It is very pigmented and leans a touch more warmer on my skin than the deep shade seen in the pan.
I was a touch dubious about it at first as i just thought it was a bit too much especially for the day time; however, i paired it with two lovely Chanel single eyeshadows, Berry and Nomade both muted pinks and it really works.
It does apply quite matte to the eye with no shimmer at all; however, applied with a damp brush brings out a more purple metallic tone.
Once again, the packaging is very nice. A magnetic closing on the eyeshadow is very reminiscent of Burberry packaging but with the classic black NARS velvet finish instead.
It wears really well and for a long time with my NARS smudge proof primer underneath. Turns into a coppery, brownish red on my skin, which is quite on trend at the moment. Has no sparkle and i will probably use this one for a crease colour or on my outer V. It does shimmer more when applied wet.
This colour is not going to suit everybody and finding other colours to work with it, may also be a challenge if you have a limited eyeshadow collection. In that sense then it isn’t very universal but it is incredibly unique and that was the initial attraction for me.
They do work out expensive at £21.00 for 1.5 gm of product; however, Desdemona is very pigmented and especially when applied with a damp brush, so it is worth it and will probably last you quite some time.
Picture far right is with Desdemona applied dry; near picture has been applied wet and has more impact.
What are your thoughts on these eyeshadows? Take care and i will see you all soon. 😉
