Dior Golden Shock Holiday 2014…………….. 5 coleurs Eyeshadow Palette, 046 Golden Reflections.
I got a lot of wonderful goodies in my Christmas stocking this year and the Dior limited edition eyeshadows was one of them.
I love the Holiday eyeshadows that Dior do each year and have been collecting them for the past 3 years now. Their eyeshadow quints at Christmas always have great quality and universal colours to them; although this year, Dior did revamp their eyeshadow quints for Fall.
The colour quint i opted for was, 046 Golden Reflections. The other palette contained much warmer colours of lilac and purple and a warmer golden glitter shade, i just preferred the Golden Reflections because i love every single shade in this particular quint.
The highlighting shade is surprisingly matte. It does look very lovely on the eye though and has a slight champagne tinge to it.
My favourite shade in the whole palette.
This is a beautiful unique shade of lilac grey. It transfers onto the eye with a satin finish with a touch of micro shimmer to it. Gorgeous! I did notice that after wearing this for a few hours, it does tend to start looking a bit more blue on my eyes. I have previously noticed this with Dior eyeshadows before. The pH in my skin does tend to alter the shades a little on my eye.

3. Khaki Brown.
I didn’t really think a lot of this when it was in the pan; however, it transfers onto my eye with a lovely golden brown and a touch of olive green in the background. It does suit my blue eyes really well and i have also worn this shade as the main shade across my eyelid with the Fusion Mono shade, Mirror and they work lovely together. This has a shimmer to it and is highly pigmented.

4. Charcoal Grey.
A deep charcoal with a blue base. The blue doesn’t show on the eye but the deep dark grey does. It is great as an eyeliner and in the socket and outer V of the eye. The colour is highly pigmented and stays put all day without fading. Blends out easy too.
5. Beige Gold Glitter.
Once i have applied all the other shades to my eyes, i then pat this on either over the lid for a dramatic glitter finish or in the inner corner of my eyes. Lovely slight translucent shade which is ideal wearing over other shades. A lovely beige glitter shade which compliments the highligher very well. All colours blended out very well and were highly pigmented.
The only slight negative thing about this palette is the new packaging. Gone is the holographic CD that made this packaging very beautiful and it is now replaced with a plain black casing with Dior embossed into the centre.
I’m not too concerned because i would rather Dior cheapened off their packaging than the quality of the product itself and the slightly smaller packaging is more traveler friendly too.(Pictured above left is the new packaging and right is the former version).
Gorgeous shades that work very well with my blue eyes, although i believe these shades are very universal anyway. They can be worn in a great number of ways and produce a smokey eye as well as a subtle daytime look as well.
The packaging is slightly lack lustre and doesn’t have that high end edge it used to have but at least Dior haven’t compromised with their eyeshadow quality.

It’s such a shame these palettes for the holiday are always limited edition.
Take care and i will see you all soon. Have a great New Year. 😉
