Dior Kingdom of Colours, Spring 2015………………….Mono Eyeshadow, 045 Fairy Grey.
I have been anticipating this release from Dior. This is the first Spring collection i have ever liked from them, (Interesting that Creative Director Peter Philips came on board last year, having left Chanel). I am loving Chanel’s Spring 2015 makeup collection also.
One product i had to pick up was the new Mono wet & Dry eyeshadow, Fairy Grey. It is so much more stunning in real life than on camera i might add.
A beautiful multi-toned, slightly iridescent sparkling medium grey shade. Contains pink, green and silver micro sparkles, very reminiscent of Chanel Illusion D’Ombre eyeshadows.
It can be worn on it’s own and dry to give a light swatch over the whole eye lid for a nice, slightly daring day time look; or, it can be worn over other shadows to enhance them with it’s multi toned glitter and also wet to give a more intense feel to the lid.
It does have a pinkish undertone and i wore it with the pink based purple shade Dior Mono wet and dry eyeshadow, 176 Lilas Mitzah in the crease and over Chanel Soft Touch single eyeshadow in Furtif, (See Below) they work beautifully together.
POSITIVES & NEGATIVES.
Lovely and easy to wear wet or dry, day or night.
Not very highly pigmented.
Creamy texture with no fall out.
0.2 gram less product than in previous Dior mono eyeshadows and more expensive.
Multi-dimensional quality to eyeshadow.
Isn’t a really universal shade but is lovely on blue eyes.
Camera will never pick up just how beautiful this shade is and how unique it is. Very similar to Chanel Illusion D’Ombre Eyeshadows; however, in powder form.
If you hate sparkle and prefer matte eyeshadows, this is not for you.
Above left ambient lighting and right is evening light. Left swatch is dry and right is wet on both photo’s.
One of the loveliest single eyeshadows i have ever seen Dior produce. I will get a lot of wear out of this and it’s so easy to apply dry or wet.
I love the way the light reflects off the micro glitter. I may be on the more mature side; however, matte eyeshadows look horrendous and flat on my eyes. The sparkle brings them to life and i love that.
I am very disappointed that it’s limited edition and that there is less product than in other Wet and Dry Mono eyeshadows. however, I have loved the Dior Mono wet and dry eyeshadows and will purchase them in the future if they continue producing these unique shades. Wonderful!
Have fun and i will see you all soon. 😉
