Five That Thrive…………………Winning Concealers!

Hi Everyone.

Time to do a little series of posts i have been thinking about for some time. I did a similar series with lipsticks and seasons a couple of years ago and now want to concentrate on other beauty items i own and love.

Concealers are absolutely essential in my beauty routine and i own a few which fulfill different purposes. One concealer isn’t enough because i use different shades and textures for each area of my face.

Five that Thrive Concealers

Over the years, i have bought many duds and if they are bad, they are pointless. I now own a few which give fantastic results. Here are my five that thrive.

Charlotte Tilbury The Retoucher, 02 Fair. (Under Eye darkness, Redness and Highlighting)

Two years ago, i would never have bought a single product from CT. Even now, it’s hit and miss with a few of her products. You have to know which to buy and this concealer is a hit.

It is her version of YSL’s ToucheΒ Γ‰clat only, it’s even better. It gives a bit more coverage and is less liquid than the latter. It also doesn’t disappear once applied, allowing dark circles to return. It is quite brightening too. I really love it.

Bobbi Brown Corrector, Bisque (Under Eyes for neutralizing darkness).

Another fantastic product for conquering eye darkness. This one has been matched to my skin tone and it does completely neutralize dark circles. It doesn’t lighten or brighten so you still need to add a brightening eye concealer over it; however it lasts and a little bit goes a long way because it is quite thick and a touch waxy. I usually place the CT Retoucher over this one.

Amazing Cosmetics Amazing Concealer, 01 Fair (Brightening areas of the face).

AMAZING! It really is just that. Staying power with brightness. I use this under my eye, sides of nose, down centre of nose and above the cupids bow. A wonderful concealer and probably the best i have ever bought. Thick and opaque, you literally need one dot to do the underneath of one eye. If you want to use it for blemishes, then just buy a shade to match skin tone. I use one shade lighter for under my eye for extra brightness after a long night.

Diorskin Nude, Skin Hydrating Concealer, 002 Beige (Blemishes).

Lovely and creamy and very opaque. It doesn’t dry and go patchy over the blemish, which you have to be aware of with some cheaper options. Once set with powder, it pretty much stays put and doesn’t wear off . A very nice formula. Pictured below, i have just placed the concealer directly over the blemish. I would normally have foundation on and blend it in well. Β

MAC Match Master Concealer 1.5 (Blemishes and Redness).

MAC Matchmaster Concealer Close UpA great concealer to pop in your handbag for use on blemishes or redness throughout the day. It is a stick form, so little mess in the makeup bag or on your hands.MAC Match Master Concealer 1.5 Swatch

It is also very opaque and easy to blend out. Not one of the best i own but the best for convenience. It is a creamy formula and this stick has lasted a long time. MAC concealers do last really well.

There you have it. Five of my current that give great results. What are your favourite concealers and why?

Take care and i will see you all soon. πŸ˜‰
